Lena Belle Mapel

Lena Belle Mapel of Chambersburg, Pa, and formerly of Hamilton, OH, went to be with her loving Lord on July 13, 2017 at 8:20 PM. She was born August 5, 1926 in Duquesne, PA. She graduated from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio and became a registered nurse in 1972. She was a postpartum nurse at Fort Hamilton hospital for 12 years and worked as a nurse at Mercy Hospital for 3 years.

Lena was a loving wife and dedicated mother who loved to cook for her family, always making sure that she had everything that her family or others needed. She was a person that loved to give and in her giving showed the deep love she had for others.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Rathel and her husband Wilford of Chambersburg, PA; a son Craig Mapel of Mesilla Park, NM; 6 grandchildren, Crystal Mapel of Jackson KY., Robert Mapel, of Atascadero, CA., Tara Reddy of Anaheim , CA., Anna Banks of Middletown, OH., Angela Downard of Oxford, OH., and Rebecca Rolfert of Cincinati, OH; and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Mapel; her son, Dale Mapel; and her twin sister, Lora Mapel.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. Hamilton, OH. Funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Butler Memorial Park Cemetery.
