Leon "Lee" Bridges, age 60 of Hamilton passed away at University of Cincinnati Hospital on Tuesday, July 20, 2010. He was born in Jellico, Tennessee on March 19, 1950 the son of Eckley and Mary Bridges. Lee was a member of Corvette Club of Hamilton and Northern New Home Church, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoyed working on cars and was an ardent Elvis fan. On January 24, 2000 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee he married Lesa Sebastian.
He is survived by his wife, Lesa Bridges; his children, Dion (Brigitte) Bridges, Gina (Wallace) Helms, Chad (Linda) Bridges, Brandon (Jeri) Bridges, and Andrew Bridges; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Jack (Inez) Bridges and Scott (Leona) Bridges; three sisters, Maxine (Herman) Day, Betty (James) Gross, and Sharon (Melvin) Blankenship; a sister-in-law, Ruth Bridges; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Bridges.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Pastors Bill Halcomb and Mike Rains officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Memorials may be made to American Liver Foundation. Lee’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Ravinuthala and staff, Dr. Anu, and the staffs of Jewish Hospital and University Hospital MICU.
