Leon Strong, age 76 of Hamilton passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 4:33 PM. He was born in Hamilton on September 20, 1931 the son of Corbin and Eva (Bales) Strong. Leon was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed for 31 years as a machinist for General Electric, retiring in 1991. On June 26, 1954 he married Loretta Kay Clair in Hamilton. He is survived by his wife Loretta Kay Strong of Hamilton; eight sons, Michael (Terri) Strong of Spokane, Washington, Terence Strong of Hamilton, Christopher (Debbie) Strong of Fairfield, Thomas Strong of Hamilton, Martin Strong of Hamilton, Vincent Strong of Hamilton, Leslie (Brenda) Strong of Hamilton, and Douglas (Elizabeth) Strong of West Chester; two daughters, Kimberly (Keith) Savage of Hamilton, and Penny (Kenneth) Bowman of Hamilton; thirty-five grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Colleen Ambrose of Toledo and her children Kathy, Teresa, and David. He was preceded in death by his parents, Corbin and Eva Strong. Funeral Service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Sonny Hurd, pastor of Lighthouse Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
