Leona Carol Newton

Leona Carol Newton, age 67 of Somerville, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Leona was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 21, 1952 to the late William and Doris (Stephens) Bennett. Leona was an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Middletown. She enjoyed quilting and crafting, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Leona is survived by her husband, Chester Newton; her children, John Newton, Cheryl (James) Collins, Darrell (Kristen) Newton; her step-children, Cathy Spradling, Chester Mays, Greg (Jessie) Newton; her 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Gary (Martha) Bennett, William (Jenny) Bennett, Kathy (Elbert) Drake and Sandy (John) Dudley, as well as many extended family members and her church family. Leona was preceded in death by parents and her brother, Thomas Clair. Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Charles Cotton officiating. Burial will follow at Somerville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
