Leona Elizabeth Webb

Leona Elizabeth Webb, age 86 of Hamilton passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 11:30 AM. She was born in Hamilton on February 9, 1924 the daughter of James M. and Isabell (Cain) Steele. Leona was employed as a sales clerk at JC Penney for 17 years and was a member of Hamilton Christian Center. On September 8, 1944 she married George Griffith, and he preceded her in death; in 1948 in Kentucky she married Orville Webb, and he preceded her in death in 1989.

She is survived by a daughter, Melodye (David) Teague of Hamilton; six grandchildren, Kendra Caudill, Vanessa (Mike) Price, Adam Clair, Heidi (Frank) Nafe, Heather (Ted) Parrella, and Timmy Webb; eleven great-grandchildren, Ashley McCain, Jordan McCain, Brianna Price, Chase Price, Zane Chapman, Jordan Nafe, Tyler Nafe, Austin Hamblin, Cameron Parrella, and Preston Parrella, and Daisy Webb; and a great-great-grandson, Brody Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Dustin Webb; seven brothers, Hobert, Everett, Leonard, Morgan, Louis, James, and Virgil Steele; and four sisters, Nannie Steele, Bessie Steele, Lessie Cox, and Ellen J. Cain.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Derwin Ward of Hamilton Christian Center officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
