Leona Wysong

Leona Wysong, age 96 of Hamilton, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013. She was born in New Miami on December 7, 1917 to James and Phebe (Peacock) Kerby. She graduated from Reily High School in 1935. Leona worked at Champion Paper Company for 35 years before retiring on January 1, 1980.

She is survived by her daughters, Norma (John) Armstrong of Mansfield, Ohio and Judith Pelton of Augusta, West Virginia; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; brother, James Kerby; sisters, Carol Bell and Jean Kerby; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Henry F. Kerby and William E. Kerby. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Davin, the nurses and the consulting E.R. doctors at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. Also, a very special thank you to all of the nurses and the Chaplain at Hospice of Cincinnati for their care and compassion.

Visitation will be 12pm until time of service (2pm), Monday, January 6, 2014, at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, with Rev. Roger Shaw of New Miami Wesleyan Church officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery.
