Leonard Hamilton Angel

Leonard Hamilton Angel, age 76, of Jonesville, VA, passed away at Lee County Community Hospital on Friday, September 20, 2024. Leonard was born in Harlan, Kentucky, on August 18, 1948, to Leonard Angel and Margaret (Hall) Angel. Leonard lived most of his life in Hamilton, Ohio. Leonard dedicated his life to his children and grandchildren. He was a Hero in his children’s eyes; He loved history, science, NASCAR, nature, mythology (his favorite cryptid was Bigfoot), and his pets, Mya and Lily. Leonard is survived by his daughters: Ginny Lewis, Mary Angel-Southard, Molly Angel, and Jordan Angel; son: James Angel; grandchildren: Jacob Southard (his wife, Elizabeth Smith), Jennifer Marcum, Charles Marcum, Hannah Marcum, and many other grandchildren through James and Ginny; and great-grandchildren, Sophia Contreras and Ruger Southard—with many other great-grandchildren through his expansive list of loving grandchildren. He was also survived by his nephew: Green Detherage.

Leonard was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Angel; mother, Margaret Angel; and sister, Elizabeth Detherage and nieces and nephew, Greg and Pam Detherage and Margaret Mandelesi; A graveside service will be held at Millville Cemetery, 2289 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM.
