Leora Esther Gill

Leora Esther Gill, age 77 of Hamilton passed away at her residence on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 6:17 PM. She was born in Hanover Township on July 1, 1930 the daughter of Robert Lee and Rose Ella (Morgan) Crawford. Leora was employed as a secretary at Ohio Casualty Insurance for 35 years, retiring in 1988. On July 1, 1950 in Hamilton she married Robert Gill.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Gill of Hamilton; two sons, Steven Gill and Brad Gill, both of Hamilton; three grandchildren, Jacob, Nathan and Chancelor Gill; two great-grandchildren, David and Haley; two sisters, Jean (Bruce) McKillican and Felda Diesh, both of Hamilton; three sisters-in-law, Marge Crawford of California, Eileen Thompson of St. Cloud, Florida, and Leona Thompson of Johnson, Tennessee; a brother-in-law, Carl Marcellus of Newport Richie, Florida; good friend, Jean Jones of Okeana; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Wesley, Raymond, Elmer and Walter Crawford; and three sisters, Helen Crawford, Bernice Crawford, and Detta Grimm.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Wendell Coning, Pastor of Hamilton Dream Center officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
