Leovia Smith

Leovia Smith, age 73 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Sunday, March 27, 2011. She was born in Clay County, Kentucky on October 11, 1937 the daughter of George and Mollie (Mills) Jackson. On December 27, 1953 in Pendleton Gap, Virginia she married Ambrose Smith, and her loving husband preceded her in death in 2003. She was considered the greatest mother and grandmother of all times.

She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Smith, Lowell (Sarah) Smith, and Eugene Smith, all of Hamilton; three daughters, Veda Smith, Mildred Smith, and Sandra (Timmy) Smith, all of Hamilton; five brothers, Homer Jackson, Baxter Jackson, Orey Jackson, Alex Jackson, and Leon Jackson, all of Manchester, Kentucky; two sisters, Mae Mills of Manchester, Kentucky and Clara Sizemore of Fairfield; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Joe Darby Smith; a granddaughter, Megan Sianna Smith; a great-granddaughter, Alexa Jean Smith; two brothers, Wilford Jackson and George "Junior" Jackson; and two sisters, Wilma Jackson and Delorie Jackson.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 12:00 noon with Preacher Charlie Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Leovia wore a gold chain and a golden cross that showed her love for God and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
