Lewis Russell Boyles, age 88 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at 1:01 PM. He was born in Russellville, Kentucky on November 19, 1918 the son of Everett and Vertie Lee (Thompson) Boyles. Lewis was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946. He retired from GM in 1979, where he was employed in salvage repair and was a UAW committee man for 20 years. He was a member of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ. On October 8, 1949 in Newport, Kentucky he married Beulah F. Walden, and she preceded him in death in 2006.
He is survived by two daughters, Drucilla Colleen (James) Rowlette of Upland, Indiana and Robbin Marlene (Mick) Johnson of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Marcus Hartman, Josh Hartman, Simone (fiancé Kevin Thomas), and Russellina (Jason) McPherson; and eight great-grandchildren, Natalie, Greg, Matthew, Sierria, Kaydence, Josh Jr., Bryanna, and Kevin. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Compton Boyles; and a sister, Neveline Clark.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Charles Anderson of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
