Lige Hamblin

Lige Hamblin, age 56 of Middletown passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 2:06 AM. He was born in Hyden, Kentucky on July 3, 1951 the son of Woolery and Powers (Stidham) Hamblin. Lige was employed at Hamilton Foundry. On September 7, 1973 in Hamilton he married Bonnie Settle.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Hamblin of Middletown; four children, Mike (Carma) Baker of Hamilton, Carla Steele of Seven Mile, Doug (Amy) Hamblin of Middletown, and Monica Hamblin of Seven Mile; nine grandchildren, David, Donnie, Morgan, Molly, Emma, Stephanie, Amyah, Tiffany, and Billie; two brothers, Woolery (Lynn) Hamblin and Isaac (Lana) Hamblin, both of Hamilton; four sisters, Barb (Larry) Shaw of New Miami, Dora (Steve) Rogers of Hamilton, Alisha (Arthur) Callihan of Cleveland, Ohio, and Edna (Larkin) Maggard of Hyden, Kentucky; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Donnie Baker and Billy Hamblin; four brothers, Irvin, John, Dudley, and Hobert Hamblin; and a sister, Susan Lewis.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Sammy Reed of Community Pentecostal Worship Center officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
