Lillian Lakes

Lillian Lakes, age 87 of Hamilton passed away at West Chester Medical Center on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 6:04 PM. She was born in Hamilton on July 4, 1922 the daughter of William and Sally Ann (Young) McGuire. Lillian was employed as a clerk at Champion Paper for 25 years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton. On November 18, 1939 in Covington, Kentucky she married Fred Lakes.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Lakes of Hamilton; a son, Fred William (Karen) Lakes of Hamilton; a daughter, Patricia Ann (James) Tucker of Mason; six grandchildren, Debbie (Kenneth) Carpenter of Fairfield, Kathy Hardman of Hamilton, Andrea Lee Wells of Port Richey, Florida, Lisa (Kenneth) Short of Grove City, Ohio, Sam (Sarah) Latham of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, and Tim (Stephanie) Carpenter of Milford; a brother, Albert McGuire of Hamilton; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Fairy "Mic" McGuire, George McGuire, Bert McGuire, and Joseph "Joe" McGuire; and two sisters, Nan Roberts and Doris Burton.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Dr. Dennis Metzger, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Hamilton, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family would like to thank the staff at West Chester Medical Center for their caring and kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Rita School for the Deaf or First Baptist Church of Hamilton.
