Lillie Lickliter

Lillie Lickliter, age 88 of Hamilton passed away in the home of her son in Tuscumbia, Alabama on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 10:00 AM. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky on June 2, 1921, the daughter of Tom and Dora (Cope) Philpot.

She is survived by two sons; Elmo (Juliana)Powell of Tuscumbia, Alabama and Gary Powell of Hamilton; one sister, Anna Powell of Manchester, Kentucky and also seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lickliter, one son, Dennis Powell ; two brothers, Robert and Jesse Philpot; and two sisters, Thelma and Georgia.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Tim Mullins, Pastor of Greenhills United Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society or charity of donor’s choice.
