Linda Imfeld

April 16, 1965 — December 9, 2023

Linda Imfeld, age 58 of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at home.  Linda was born in Hamilton, Ohio on April 16, 1965 to John Henry Shifflett and Charlcy (Hayes) Shifflett. She graduated from Edgewood High School and D. Russell Lee Joint Vocational School where she studied horticulture. Linda began her over 40 year career in floral/horticulture before she even graduated. She started at Youngs Greenhouse at only 15 years old (1980). In 1984 she was the first woman hired at Imfeld Nursery where she met the love of her life and future husband Tom Imfeld. They were married at Lake Isabella in Loveland, Ohio on May 31, 1986 in an outdoor wedding. The following year in 1987 she started a 5 year stretch with the Kroger company. Again, Linda paved the way for others by pioneering the floral department as a standalone department separate from produce. She became the first floral manager with the company after proving the capabilities for the department and providing design examples for corporate. Linda always had an eye for beauty and was able to create stunning arrangements. She finished her career with a local floral distributor now known as the Cincinnati branch of Denver Wholesale Florists. While working there for more than the last 20 years she stepped up multiple times taking positions as need arose within the company. She worked with florists across the tristate area both to ensure they had what they needed. Linda's creativity and eye for beauty was known by many. She was always willing to help out and share her extensive experience. Linda finished her tenure as Supply Manager for DWF in early fall due to complications from cancer. Despite her diagnosis, she was still able to audit the department within her last six months of her career and find areas of correction that resulted in a substantial increase of profit for the company. Linda was always determined to see that things were done the right way. She was always determined to do her best to take care of everyone. Linda always made sure that costs were fair to her customers while also making sure that the company would still make a profit.  She was a devoted Mother and Mamaw who loved spending time with her family. Linda was determined that her family always came first and would go out of her way to make sure that they were taken care of. She was seen as family by many because of her openness and care for others. As her grandchildren came along she was diagnosed with cancer. Her determination and love of family were a source of strength for Linda as her grandchildren were a driving force that kept her fighting throughout her difficult 3 year battle. Linda also had an extensively broad love of music. She enjoyed watching fireworks with her family and spending time outdoors. Linda loved trips with her loved ones especially to the ocean or to the Smoky Mountains. Linda is survived by her husband of 37 years, Tom Imfeld; three Children, Tracy (Jimmy) Osborne, Christopher (Emily) Imfeld, and Tyler (Tiffany) Imfeld; eight Grandchildren, Adeline, James, Landon, David, Mia, Ella, Michael, and Olivia; siblings, Darrell (Kim) Shifflett, Ronnie Shifflett, Janet Shifflett, Brenda (Wayne) Rowland and Carol (James) Bennett; siblings-in-law, Trey (Barb) Imfeld, Kitty (Dan) Preston, Rebecca Imfeld, Keenan (Pam) Imfeld, Teresa Imfeld, and Kevin (Cyndie) Imfeld; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Linda was preceded in death by her parents John Henry and Charlcy Shifflett; siblings, Elaine Shifflett-Lane and Charlie Shifflett; and parents-in-law, Clem F. Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Imfeld. The family would like to extend their thanks to the medical team at Kettering Health and Hospice of Hamilton for their care and compassion through this journey.
