Lindsay Murray, Jr.

Lindsay Murray Jr., Lindsay Murray Jr., age 80, of Hamilton, passed away on Monday December 31, 2007 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hamilton on December 12, 1927 the son of Lindsay and Myrtle (McDaniel) Murray. Lindsay was a member of F&AM Washington Lodge #17 and Westside Baptist Church. On October 9, 1948 he and Betty Reist were married in Hamilton. Together they reared three children and ran Lindsay Murray Builder providing custom built homes throughout the Hamilton and Fairfield area.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Murray of Hamilton; his son, Dale Murray of Cincinnati; his two daughters, Lisa (Jim) Sandlin of Hamilton and Leslie Guciardo of Newark, Ohio; six grandchildren, Ryan Guciardo of Cleveland, and Maria Guciardo of New York, Brandon (Kim) Huff of Cincinnati, James Sandlin Jr. of Hamilton, Tina (Parrish) Ozias of Hamilton, and Lisa (Kevin) Courtney of Indiana; four great-grandchildren, Kylee, Haley, Isabella, and Mazzy; a brother, George C. Murray of Hamilton; a sister, Mae Knepper of Cincinnati; a sister-in-law, Judy Murray of Hamilton; and many other in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Daniel Murray; and two sisters, Helen Himes and Mildred Kelley.

A Masonic service will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 12:00 noon immediately followed by a funeral service with Dr. Richard Rhodis of Westside Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to: Dr. Richard Sternberg, Dr. H. S. Ramadas, and Dr. Pete Scheidler, for many years of care and friendship. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 11500 N. Lake Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249 in recognition of their kind and dedicated caregivers.
