Lloyd McKinley Deaton, age 79 of Oxford, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. He was born in Hamilton on September 22, 1936 to Dee and Mary (Williams) Deaton. He was a veteran of the United States Army. After working as a police officer, firefighter, and postal carrier, Lloyd retired from Champion Paper Company in 1996.
He is survived by his children, Deanna (John) McCracken, Danny (Jennifer) Deaton, and Denny (Michelle) Deaton; grandchildren, Amy, Megan, Jake, Morgan, and Matt; a brother, Tom Deaton; and his sisters, Marietta Bond, and Doris Caudill. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra M. Deaton; a brother, Bobby Deaton; sister, Wanda Steele; and his parents.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Glenn Johnson and Walt Philpot officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Vitas Hospice, Dr. Erica Brzezinski, and Jodi Kuhlman for their care and compassion.
