Lois Shoemaker, age 64 of Millville passed away at Mercy Hospital Fairfield on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 8:01 PM. She was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on February 13, 1945 the daughter of George and Florence (Parker) Robbins. Lois, a homemaker who was devoted to her family, was a member of West Side Baptist Church. On August 1, 1970 in Harlan County, she married Charles Shoemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Charlie Shoemaker of Millville; two sons, Scott Shoemaker and Randy Shoemaker, both of Millville; three grandchildren, Tyler, Brandon, and Charles "CJ"; four brothers, Johnny (Juanita) Robbins, Jackie (Beverly) Robbins, both of Bivens, Texas, Larry Don (Elaine) Robbins of Sturgis, Kentucky, and Denny Robbins of Kenvir, Kentucky; four sisters, Peggy (Robert) Owens of Corbin, Kentucky, Linda (Winston) Madden, Betty Robbins, and Marcella Clem, all of Kenvir, Kentucky; two stepsisters, Tammy (Bobby) Shepherd of Cumberland, Kentucky and Candi (Bill) Howard of Harlan, Kentucky; a stepbrother, Paul (Adrianne) Robbins of Harlan, Kentucky; a brother-in-law, Howard Helton of Loyall, Kentucky; and two sisters-in-law, Sharen Robbins of El Paso, Texas and Phyllis Dozier Robbins of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Billy Ray, Harold, and David Robbins; and two sisters, Edna Helton and Shirley Robbins.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Dr. Richard Rhodus of West Side Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to West Side Baptist Church. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staffs of Ft. Hamilton Hospital and Mercy Hospital Fairfield for their excellent care.
