Lora I. Mapel

Lora I. Mapel, age 80 of Hamilton passed away at her residence surrounded by many loved ones on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 6:40 AM. She was born in Duquesne, Pennsylvania on August 5, 1926 the daughter of Harry and Zora (Tagliavini) Saunders. Lora was an avid member of the Church of Christ, attending services and teaching Sunday School for several years. On June 15, 1946 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania she married Charles Mapel, and he preceded her in death in 1988.

Lora was a devoted mother, grandmother, and homemaker who is survived by three daughters, Pamela Max of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Cheryl (Ben) Staton of Rossville, Georgia, and Charlene Hubbard of Hamilton; nine grandchildren, Erin (Chris) West, Damon (Chrissy) Williams, Nathan (Melissa) Eldridge, Gary Riggs, Kimberly Munger, Steven Adkinson, James Stewart, Teresa Reed, and Lisa Castillo-Reyes; eleven beloved great-grandchildren, including Aaron, Ashlynn, Carissa, and Caitlyn; a twin sister, Lena Mapel of Hamilton;a brother, James (Teffy) Saunders of Pennsylvania; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Robert, Thomas, and Harry Saunders.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, July 9, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Charles Denny of Middletown officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
