Loretta (Coe) Lakes, age 81 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Saturday, March 9, 2013. She was born in Hamilton on June 29, 1931 to Charles and Frances (Hazelwood) Coe. On October 8, 1949 in Hamilton she married Cecil Lakes, and they were happily married for 63 years. She enjoyed crafting, quilting, and lively conversation. She was a member of Oxford Piecemakers, Hamilton Patchwork Quilt Guild, Modern Housewives, and the 49ers.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil Lakes; a daughter, Caroline (Kevin) Williams of Hamilton; a son, Gary (Andry) Lakes of Nicosia, Cyprus; a grandson, David Lakes of Nicosia, Cyprus; a granddaughter, Hannah Williams; her mother, Frances Coe of Hamilton; a sister, Charlotte Freeman of Florida; and a brother, David Coe of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Lakes; her father; two brothers, Paul and Joseph Coe; and two sisters, Virginia Grollmus, and Marilyn Ball.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association in her honor.
