Loretta Vetress Meadors

Loretta Vetress Meadors, age 82 of Hamilton passed away in Golden Years Nursing Center on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 2:10 AM. She was born in Hamilton on July 13, 1927 the daughter of Garrett and Maud (Willis) Wells. Loretta was a 1945 graduate of Hamilton High School. She was employed by Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Champion Paper Company, and Ohio Casualty Insurance Company. Loretta was a member of the Rivers of Life Church of God, where she faithfully ministered to hundreds of two and three year old children in Sunday school nursery class for over 40 years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, and spending time with her family. On October 24, 1953 in Hamilton she was married to E. Carl Meadors.

She is survived by her husband, E. Carl Meadors of Hamilton; one son, Travis (Kimberly) Meadors of Hamilton; three daughters, Lisa (Michael) Ward of Cleveland, Tennessee, Lynette DeVine of Middletown, and Tracy (Michael) Steelman of Fairfield; one brother, Russell Wells of Hamilton; 13 grandchildren, Ryan DeVine, Christopher Ward, Lauren, Joshua, Jared, Jacob, Jennifer, Joseph, Emma Meadors, Lindsey, Brittany, Madison, and Michael Steelman; one great-grandchild, Mason Ward; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Clyde, Doyle, and Harold Wells; and two sisters, Florence Portwood and Joan Holman.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Wilma Jackson of Rivers of Life Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
