Loretta Mae Poe, age 91 of Hamilton, passed away at The Woodlands of Hamilton on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Loretta was born in Monarch, Pennsylvania on May 26, 1932 to Frank L. and Margaret P. (nee Berenchi) Hominsky. Loretta was educated through Fayette County Schools in Pennsylvania. On February 26, 1952 she was united in marriage to the late Jimmie R. Poe at the Parish House of St. Vincent De Paul Church in Leisenring, PA. Throughout her working career, Loretta was employed at Mercy Hospital in Hamilton and Pease Company in Hamilton, Ohio. She was a member of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church and Zion Lutheran Church, both in Hamilton, Ohio. Loretta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, whose joy in life was her family. She will be remembered for her creativity, love for life, wonderful spirit and will be greatly missed.
Surviving Loretta is her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and David Theiss of Hamilton, Ohio; her beloved grandchildren, Travis (Laura) and Brodie (Kristy) Theiss; five dear great-grandchildren, Kaden, Nolan, Kallie, Noraand Natalie Theiss all of West Chester, Ohio; her brother, Frank Hominsky of Medina, Ohio; her sisters-in-law, Judy (Denver) Parrett of Franklin, Tennessee, and Joyce Rice of Hamilton, Ohio; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her dear friends, Sue Rumley, Sandy Harkleroad, Pat Goins and Brenda Reiff. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 50 years, Jimmie Poe; her brothers, Thomas Hominsky of Eastlake, Ohio and Ivan Hominsky of Connellsville, Pennsylvania; her sisters, Frances and Norma Jean Hominsky, and Esther (James) Shubert of Connellsville, Pennsylvania; and her in-laws, James and Earsie Poe of Hamilton, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM with John Mittermaier officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
