Loretta Kay "Katy" Strong

Loretta Kay “Katy” Strong age 88 of Hamilton passed away peacefully on Friday, June 20th, surrounded by her family.

Katy was born in Frenchburg, KY on September 15, 1936 to the late Tom and Callie Clair. She married Leon Strong on June 26, 1954, and together they had 10 children; 8 sons and 2 daughters.

Katy was a stay-at-home mom who was often found in the kitchen cooking and baking for her family and the neighborhood kids too. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She put others before herself her entire life and was a quiet soul who would always be there to listen. Katy enjoyed spending time with her family, and she loved to play Bingo with her daughter and friends.

Katy is survived by 9 of her children: eight sons, Mike (Terri) Strong of Tucson, AZ, Terry (Dianne) Strong of Hebron, KY, Chris (Debbie) Strong of Fairfield, Rick (Noel) Strong of Hamilton, Marty Strong of Hamilton, Vince Strong of Hamilton, Les (Brenda) Strong of Fairfield, and Doug (Elizabeth) Strong of West Chester; and one daughter; Penny (Ken) Bowman of Hamilton , over 50 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and her dear friend Elaine. Katy is proceeded in death by her husband Leon Strong, daughter Kim Savage, several grandchildren, her parents and 12 siblings.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
