Lorraine Collier, age 79 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 12:53 PM. She was born in Hamilton on May 6, 1932 the daughter of Elva and Cora (Day) Blankenship. Lorraine was a retired Realtor who worked for multiple agencies over the years. She loved music and was active in everything from high school choirs to church choirs until her illness forced her to retire from the First Baptist Church of Hamilton choir. Lorraine loved to play the piano and was an avid China painter. On January 30, 1953 in Hamilton, she married Manford "Rex" Collier, whom preceded her in death in 2011. She did not walk to her heavenly home; she ran in her new body. Lorraine was received into the waiting arms of her Savior, her husband of 59 years, her son, her parents, her brother and sister, and the rest of her friends and family who went on before her. She is at peace and she’s smiling down on all of us.
She is survived by two children, Kerry (Teri) Collier and Kelly (Gary) Mozingo, both of Hamilton; a sister, Jerri (Bud) Conrad of Hamilton; a granddaughter, Alyson Rothenbusch; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Keith Collier; a brother, Delmar Ray Blankenship; and a sister, Dorothy F. Withrow.
