In Loving Memory of Lorraine Smallwood (Croucher)
Lorraine Smallwood (Croucher), age 85, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed peacefully on August 15, 2026.
Lorraine was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on May 17, 1941, to the late William E. and Sarah M. (Creech). She married Wayne Smallwood April 1961, and together they raised three sons: Jeff (Renee Farmer), Brian (Kristi Earls), and Barry (Anne Brandner).
Lorraine was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was blessed with five grandchildren: Cammie (Chase Funke), Ty (Lauren Copas), Cody (Alexia Jonson), Emily (Devon Seniors), and Megan (Dylan Blevins), as well as 11 cherished great-grandchildren, who brought her tremendous joy.
She is survived by her sisters, Geneva Stigall, Edna Davis, and Imogene (Ernest) Jarvis; her sister-in-law, Juanita Croucher; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Hilton, Deltha Croucher, and Marjorie Miller; and her brothers, Earl, Bert, Clyde, Steve, and Herman Croucher.
Lorraine was a longtime member of Princeton Pike Church of God and also enjoyed attending church services with her beloved sister, Imogene, at Hamilton Church of God. Her faith and family were important and treasured parts of her life.
Lorraine had a joyful spirit and was truly the life of every party. She enjoyed singing and harmonizing with family and yodeling for anyone and everyone. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could bring laughter and happiness to any gathering. She was a sweet perfectionist at heart and took great pride in keeping her home beautiful, both inside and out. Her home was always warm, welcoming, and filled with love for family and friends.
Lorraine was a strong and courageous woman and a 20-plus-year cancer survivor. Throughout her working years, she was employed at K-Mart, Kroger, Hallmark, Sunshine Kids, and Merle Normans. She also had a passion for Longaberger, becoming an avid collector and seller.
Lorraine will be remembered for her beautiful smile, joyful personality, strong faith, love of family, and the laughter she brought to so many lives. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the healthcare facilities, caregivers, and staff who provided such compassionate care to our beloved mother over the past few months.
A special thank-you goes to Ryan, who kept Lorraine’s lawn looking beautiful. She always looked forward to his visits, and our family deeply appreciates his kindness.
Lorraine will be deeply missed and forever loved.
