Louis Douglas Daniel

Louis Douglas Daniel, age 94 of Hamilton, passed away at Berkeley Square on Thursday, October 13, 2016. Douglaswas born in Hamilton, Ohio on July 14, 1922 to Thomas J. and Martha (Isaacs) Daniel. He served in the U.S. Army under General Clark during WWII and was stationed in Africa, Italy, and France. He was in the 85th Infantry Division as a Prisoner of War Escort Guard, a division of the Military Police. Doug was employed at Champion Paper for over 43 years, retiring as a Shift Foreman in 1985. On August 11, 1973 in Lafollett, Tennessee he married Helen Mangile. He was a life member of the VFW 1069, Moose Lodge #36, Eagles 407, and Amvets 1983.

Louis is survived by his wife of 43 years, Helen A. Daniel; sister, Bernice Cook; nieces, Martha Alice (Bill) Drew, and Vickie Kershner; and other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings. Edwin, Thelma, Wayne, Clarence, and Arnold; and his parents.
