Louise M. Gentry

Louise M. Gentry, age 93 of Hamilton passed away at Birchwood Care Center on Monday, February 21, 2011. She was born in Hamilton on May 16, 1917 the daughter of James and Lillie (Bishop) Owens. Louise was a dedicated Christian for 86 years and a member of the Fairfield Church of God. On July 2, 1938 in Liberty, Indiana she married James Earl Gentry, and he preceded her in death in 1999.

She is survived by seven sons, James E. (Terry) Gentry of Dayton, Don (Kim) Gentry, Ron Gentry, Arthur Gentry, Doug (Joy) Gentry, Ray (Judy) Gentry, and Greg (Lora) Gentry, all of Hamilton; two daughters, Shirley (Buddy) George of Hamilton and Mary (James) Wicke of Harrison; a sister, Bertha Phillips of Millville; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter–in-law, Shirley Gentry; a brother, Charles Owens; and a sister, Nora Tussey.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Daryl McCoy of Fairfield Church of God of God officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Louise’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the caretakers at Birchwood and Hillendale and to the staff of Southwest Hospice.
