Lowell Dean McBee, age 77 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Saturday, February 18, 2012. He was born in Knox County, Kentucky on May 23, 1934 the son of John Wesley an Cleda (Garland) McBee. He was employed as a roofer with the Local 42 Roofer’s Union for more than 40 years. On April 3, 1956 in Jellico, Tennessee he married Laura I. Parker and she preceded him in death in 2002. Lowell was a member of Glory Road Worship Center and was an avid fisherman and hunter.
He is survived by three children, Edward (Vanessa) McBee of Hamilton, Deborah (Roger) Crawford of Somerville, and Tammy (Charlie) Bolser of Hamilton; eight grandchildren, Julia Buddo, Michelle (Chris) Gabbard, Chris (Dana) Bolser, Jennifer (Anthony) Kiep, Felicia McBee, Jacob Bolser, Alicia (Everett) Martin, and Dylan McBee; ten great-grandchildren; and devoted friend, Eva Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings, Junior, Dewey, and George McBee, Edith Smith, Mary Reynolds, and Myrtle Rapier. Lowell was a loving father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including his loving dog, JJ.
Funeral service will be held at Glory Road Worship Center, 199 Highland Ave., New Miami, on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Vernon Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and also Thursday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM at the church.
