Lucy Blevins

Lucy Blevins, age 93 of Hamilton passed away at Butler County Care Facility on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 6:31 PM. She was born in Estill County, Kentucky on July 8, 1917 the daughter of Francis Marion and Margaret Ann (Webb) Chamberlain. Lucy attended the Faith Pentecostal Church of Hamilton. On July 27, 1940 in Irvine, Kentucky she married Rev. Joe C. Blevins, and he preceded her in death in 1995.

She is survived by two sons, Roger (Bobbie) Blevins of Indian Springs and Ron (Wilma) Blevins of Williamstown, West Virginia; a daughter, Charlotte (Gene) Ragan of Fairfield Township; a brother, Charlie (Verda) Chamberlain of Hamilton; four sisters, Gracie Cox, Retha Alcorn, Edna Spivey, and Elsie Henry, all of Irvine, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three infant siblings; two sisters, Addie Miller and Lillie Mae Miller; a brother, David Chamberlain; and a great-grandson, Josh Blevins.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Rick Witt officiating. Burial will follow in Somerville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
