Lucy Mae Peters

Lucy Mae Peters, age 96 of Liberty Township went home to be with the Lord at Hillandale Health Care on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 11:14 PM. She was born in Berea, Kentucky on February 23, 1913 the daughter of Henry and Rosa (Barrett) Tussey. Lucy was a member of Hamilton Christian Center. On July 23, 1929 in Hamilton she was married to Edward Peters Sr., and he preceded her in death in 1969.

She is survived by five sons, Edward Peters Jr. of Hamilton, Verlyn (Billie) Peters of Ross, Jack (Dina) Peters of Trenton, Carl Peters of Hamilton, and Daniel (Donna) Peters of Hamilton; three daughters, Shirley Cofojohn of Bradenton, Florida, Betty (Ron) Acres of West Chester, and Sandy (Roy) Acres of Hamilton; fourteen grandchildren, Joyce, Jan, Edward III, Ronda, Dave, Mark, Karen, Leif, Susan, Jonathan, Nicole, Erica, Daniel, and Ryan; and also ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Jake Tussey; and five sisters, Hazel Elton, Ruth Bond, Nora Winkler, Lucille Lehman, and Edna Van Winkle.

Funeral services will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bobby Mills of Hamilton Christian Center officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff of Hillandale Health Care and to Dr. Earl Scheidler, family friend and her physician for their loving care and concern.
