Lula Humfleet

Lula Humfleet, age 102 of Hamilton passed away at her residence on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 9:00 PM. She was born in London, Kentucky on October 10, 1909 the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Jones) Benge. Lula was a member of Eaton Road Full Gospel Church. On January 27, 1925 in London, Kentucky she married Walter S. Humfleet, and he preceded her in death in 1985.

She is survived by a son, Elbert Eugene (Justene) Humfleet of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Walter (Teresa) Humfleet, Debbie (David) Catchings, Terry Ion, Beverly Ion, Connie (John) Stringer and Michael (Anne) Eversole; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter and son-in-law, Jessie and George Hamilton; seven siblings, John, James, Boyd, Grace, Cecil, Kay, and Dorothy.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Revs. Cecil and Ernest Benge officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
