Mabel Gentry, age 91 of Hamilton, passed away at Woodlands Country Manor on Saturday, April 18, 2015. She was born in Livingston, Kentucky on August 8, 1923 to Bennett and Clara (Pruitt) Mullins. On September 27, 1947 in Hamilton she married Ruford Gentry, who preceded her in death in 2009. Mabel was retired from Hamilton City Schools. She was a member of the East Hamilton Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Sue (Jeff) Black; grandchildren, Ethan Black and Rachel (Chris) Stall; sisters, Helen Swanner and Pauline Adams; and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Gentry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruford Gentry; son, Tom Gentry; sisters, Marie Ponder and Berniece Chandler; and her parents.
Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Paul Tillett officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
