Mabel K. Saylor

Mabel K. Saylor, age 82 of Hamilton, passed away at Wellington Manor on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 4:40 PM. She was born in Hamilton on November 27, 1932 to Hubert and Nellie (Brandenburg) Rowland. Mabel was employed at Golden Years Nursing Center for a number of years and also in food service at Fairfield High School for 17 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church. On September 1, 1948 in Covington, Kentucky she married James E. Saylor Sr. and he preceded her in death in 2012.

She is survived by four children, Michael (Peggy) Saylor and Jimmy Saylor, both of Hamilton, Jeffrey Saylor of Fairfield, and Nellie (Ed) Couch of Brookville, Indiana; a brother, Kenneth Rowland of Hamilton; her sister, Daisy Winkler of Hamilton; nine grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Richard Saylor and Robert Saylor; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Saylor; five brothers, Hubert "Junior", James, John, Earl, and Frank Rowland; and 2 sisters, Irma Filgo and Phyllis Strunk.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Ron Pittman of Bible Way Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
