Madeline E. Lubbers, age 101 of Cincinnati passed away at Drake Hospital on Friday, March 18 2016 at 1:25 PM. She was born in Middletown on October 8, 1914 the daughter of George and Fanny (Fisher) Averdick. Madeline was the owner and operator of Lubbers School of Dance in Middletown, Monroe, Trenton, and Hamilton for fifty years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. On September 6, 1939 in Middletown she married Henry O. Lubbers and he preceded her in death in 1992.
She is survived by her son, Hank Lubbers of Cincinnati; two grandchildren, Erin Jean (Michael) Schulte of Cincinnati and Ian H. (Megan) Lubbers of Fairfield; seven great grandchildren, Mary, Noah, Annabel, Thomas, Sadie, Eleanor, and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, George and Delbert Averdick.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 171 Washington Street, on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Father Jim Elsbernd Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Vitas Hospice, 151 W. Galbraith Rd 5 W, Cincinnati, OH 45216 or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
