Maggie Jeanette Smith

Maggie Jeanette Smith, age 73 of Fairfield, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 7:00 PM. She was born in Barbourville, Kentucky on June 5, 1941 the daughter of Leslie and Estille (Abner) Fisher. She was employed at Hamilton Wiping Cloth and a member of East River Road Baptist Church. On July 2, 1960 in Barbourville, Kentucky she married Linvel Smith.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Linvel Smith of Fairfield; two sons, Randy (Kimberly) Smith and Douglas (Anita) Smith, both of Hamilton; one brother, Darrell Fisher of Salem, Indiana; four grandchildren, Brandon, Shaun, Spencer, and Brooke Smith; brother-in-law, Glen Smith of Lebanon; two sisters-in-law, Fern Mallard and Jewel Smith; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Shirrell Fisher; and one sister Louise Hacker.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Tim Smith and Rev. Arvil Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Hospice of Hamilton, 1010 Eaton Avenue, Hamilton, 45013.
