Marcella Loomis passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2026. She was surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was born in London, Kentucky, on October 16, 1950, to Lucille and Jarvie Proffitt. She graduated from New Miami High School and married her sweetheart, Victor Loomis, on February 14, 1969, before he was drafted into the military. Together, they built a home and a life filled with love. They raised two children, Zack and Erin, and she loved being a grandmother to her granddaughters, Olivia and Natalie.
Marcella worked for Edgewood City Schools for most of her career. She enjoyed driving a school bus and interacting with the children. Her faith was an important part of her life. She was a longtime member of New Miami Wesleyan Church, where she taught Sunday school to children and led Vacation Bible School during the summers. Marcella had a beautiful voice and loved singing to the congregation.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Proffitt; her father, Jarvie Proffitt; and her two brothers, Wendell and Michael Proffitt. She leaves behind her husband, Victor; her son, Zack (Tabitha); her daughter, Erin (Charlie); her granddaughters, Olivia and Natalie; and her sisters, Ruthetta, Marina, Melinda, Tonia, and Tresa.
Marcella will be truly missed, and we will forever cherish the memories she leaves behind. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, August 15th, 2026 at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home located at 1350 Millville Avenue in Hamilton, Ohio from 10 AM to 11 AM.
