Margaret "Peg" Smith

Margaret “Peg” Smith, age 63 of Seven Mile, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Peg was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 11, 1958 to James McRoberts and Wanda (nee Barger) Bond. She graduated from Preble Shawnee in 1976. On October 14, 1978, she married Richard Smith in Jacksonburg, OH. Together, Richard and Peg had three sons and raised them on a farm in Seven Mile. Peg was an avid Edgewood Cougars fan and spent 23 years working at Edgewood City Schools. Peg spent many years volunteering in her sons activities, such as 4-H and Edgewood’s sporting events. Above all, her grandchildren were the light of her life and she looked forward to hosting family gatherings and holidays.

Peg is survived by her mother, Wanda (Lelon) Bond; her sons, Chad (Lori) Smith, Travis (Sara) Smith and Cory Smith; her grandchildren, Alexis, Roman, Colten, Justin, Lane, Layla, Lucas, Wyatt, Lee, Amelia, Emersyn and Elsie; her siblings, Lelon Bond II and Tracy Ballinger; and several special aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. Peg was preceded in death by her father, James McRoberts; and her husband of 25 years, Richard Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio. Graveside service will be held at Hickory Flat Cemetery, Morganthaler Road, Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Darrell Mountjoy officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Peg Smith Memorial Scholarship at Fifth Third Bank.
