Margie M. Metzger

Margie M. Metzger, age 78 of Hamilton passed away at her residence on Wednesday, May 12, 2010. She was born in Hamilton on August 30, 1931 the daughter of Luther and Edna (Hill) Murphy. Margie retired from Avon, where she was a supervisor. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed bingo and going to casinos. On November 12, 1949 in Hamilton she married Donald Metzger, and he preceded her in death in 1992.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Roy) Ebbing of Camden and Kathy (Gordy) Merrill of Hamilton; five grandchildren, Brian, Chris, Cathi, Donny, and Amy; five great-grandchildren, Paige, Audrey, Tyler, Nick, and Georgia; three brothers, Jack Murphy, Eddie Murphy, and Doug Murphy, all of Hamilton; two sisters, Patricia Hibbard and special sister and best friend Jean Murphy, both of Hamilton; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bobby Metzger; and siblings Ginny, Pauline, Tom, Mackie, Donnie and Bob.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Greg Jackson of First Southern Baptist Church of Camden, officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. The family requests memorial contributions to Hospice of Cincinnati.
