Marguerite E. "Madge" Blackerby, age 79 of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Hospital of Fairfield on Sunday, April 26, 2009. She was born in Cambridge, Ohio on July 19, 1929 the daughter of William and Marguerite (Frontz) Anderson. Marguerite was a former employee of Jack & Jill Nursery. She was a member of Sight Seekers and Partners in Prime, an avid bingo player, and enjoyed crafts. Marguerite attended New Testament Baptist Church. On November 17, 1946 in Liberty, Indiana she married Elmer Blackerby, and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2001.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy Durrough of Fairfield; a grandson, Eric (Tracey) Durrough of Oxford; two great-grandchildren, Ryan Durrough and Brandon Durrough; and two sisters, Norma Chad and Beverly Thompson, both of Cambridge, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, William, Richard, and Clyde Anderson; and a sister, Shirley Clipner.
Funeral service will be held at the chapel at Butler County Memorial Park on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Lamon Hubbs, Pastor of New Testament Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family extends a special thank you to the staffs of Mercy Hospital ICU and E.R. departments for their care and support.
