Marie Barger

Marie Barger, age 85 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Monday, March 21, 2011. She was born in Estill County, Kentucky on February 5, 1926 the daughter of Virgil and Mamie (Flynn) Carpenter. Marie retired from Ohio Casualty in 1991. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons, Brian (Susan) Hymer and Larry (Terri) Hymer; a stepson, Vince W. (Bonnie) Barger; a stepdaughter, LaVerne (Michael) Lingler; a brother, Sonny Hurd Sr.; two sisters, Patty (Ralph) Wright and Melody (Sonny) Richardson; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, James O. Hymer in 1951 and Vince Barger in 1999; a stepdaughter, Diane Shannon; a granddaughter, Kelly Bowling; and a sister, Wilma Burge.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Sonny Hurd of Lighthouse Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon.
