Marie W. Brown

Marie W. Brown, age 85 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 9:20 AM. She was born in Mayfield, Kentucky on September 21, 1924 the daughter of Noble Able and Mary M. (Forth) Womack. Marie was a member of Allison Avenue Baptist Church; the Red Hat Society; and was a Rosie the Riveter during World War II. On April 24, 1943 in Mayfield, Kentucky she married Billy Ray Brown, and he preceded her in death in 1984.

She is survived by three sons, Dave (Zetta) Brown of Cincinnati, Jim Brown of Hamilton, and Tom Brown of Fairfield; a sister, Mary Womack of Okeana; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Womack.

Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral service will follow Thursday at 7:00 PM with Rev. Ken Dugas of Allison Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM at Spence Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Mayfield, Kentucky.
