Marie K. Nichting

Marie K. Nichting, age 92 of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Franciscan at Schroder on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 5:49 PM. She was born in Hamilton on April 18, 1918 the daughter of Lewis and Margaret (Quell) Doerpers. Marie was employed as a nurses’ aide at Mercy Hospital for 24 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church. On July 1, 1939 in Hamilton she married Harry Nichting who preceded her in death in 1960.

She is survived by two children, Richard (Kathleen) Nichting of Hamilton and Margaret (Norman) Davis of Chesterfield, Virginia; twelve grandchildren, Dianna Hastings, Karen (Dr. E. James) Wiley, Michael Davis, Kevin (Katrina) Davis, Scott Nichting, Amanda (Craig) Bull, Jennifer (Richard) Riestenberg, Mark (Tracie) Nichting, John (Patty) Nichting, Brian (Megan) Nichting, Matthew (Nedra) Nichting, and Kyle Nichting; and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Lawrence, Bernard, Mark, and Joseph Doerpers; and two sisters, Ella Mae Doerpers and Agnes Brunner.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, on Monday, August, 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Father Ron Haft Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mercy Franciscan at Schroder, Fourth Floor Renovations Fund, 1302 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio 45013 or Hospice of Cincinnati.
