Marie Waites

Marie Waites, age 78 of Hamilton passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 8:12 PM. She was born in Hamilton on March 31, 1930 the daughter of Pleas and Viola (Bolser) Young. Marie was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Edgewood school district, retiring in 1990, and was a member of Trenton Christian Church. On September 10, 1955 in Richmond, Indiana she married Arthur Waites, who preceded her in death in 1987.

She is survived by two sons, Arthur (Melissa) Waites, and Adrian (Alyce Michelle) Waites, both of Hamilton; a step-daughter, Betty Ann (Johnny) Paynter of Middletown; two brothers, Bill Young of Fayetteville, Ohio, and Jim Young of Costa Rica; a sister, Irene Harding of Columbus, Georgia; a granddaughter, Allison Leigh Waites; seven step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; nine step-great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank and Bud Young; and a sister, Loretta Young.

Funeral Service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday, March 2, 2009 at 9:00 AM with Mr. Jack Young officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Berkeley Square Health Care, Mount Pleasant Retirement Village, or to Hospice of Cincinnati. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Fort Hamilton Hospital, Berkeley Square Health Care, Mount Pleasant Retirement Village, and the Hospice of Cincinnati for their love, care, and affection during Marie’s stay.
