Mary Ann Smith

Mary Ann Smith, age 79 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 1:25 AM. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 9, 1932 the daughter of Martin A. and Loretto (Donohoe) Fenlon. Mary was an Associate Professor of Nursing at Miami University for 25 years. She was a member of St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church. On June 26, 1965 in Columbus she married John B. Smith.

She is survived by her husband, John B. Smith of Hamilton; three sons, Brian B. (Andrea) Smith, Gregory A. Smith, both of Hamilton, and Barry M. (Monica) Smith of Milford; two brothers, Robert D. (Stephanie) Fenlon and Richard Fenlon, both of Columbus; and three grandsons, Maxwell Barry Smith, Colin Martin Smith, and Sean Barry Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Thomas Fenlon; and her twin sister, Martha Reitz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 224 Dayton Street, on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Badin High School Scholarship Fund.
