Mary Beth Beckman

April 2, 1959 — August 15, 2014

Mary Beth Beckman "Miss Betsy" passed away peacefully on Friday, August 15, 2014 with her family at her side. She bravely battled renal cell cancer. She was born on April 2, 1959 to William and Marilyn (Zettler) Moore. Mary Beth married her high school sweetheart, Jeff Beckman, celebrating 38 years of marriage.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff; children, Carrie (Charles) Logan, Steve (Brandy) Beckman, and Laura (Paul) Reid; her parents, William and Marilyn Moore; she was a loving and caring grandmother to Alexis Logan, Cameron, Aubrey, and Carter Beckman, and Kellen Reid; her siblings, Steve (Tina) Moore, Melanie (Mike) Akin, Cathy Templeton, and Tammy (Harold) Benge; she was a special mother figure to her nephew, Kyle Gambrel; God son, Joe Templeton, and God daughter, Betsy Beckman Strunk; her favorite aunt and uncle, Ron and Gloria Alexander; and best friends, Tari Jarvis and Robin Solazzo. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Olivia Grace Logan; sister, Cindy Daniels; grandparents, Al and Mary Zettler; an aunt, Donna Zettler; and a cousin, Michael Zettler.

She was employed for 17 years by the Butler County Educational Service, Early Childhood Programs of the Talawanda and Middletown school districts. She was fondly known as Miss Betsy to the Head Start children and their families. Mary Beth’s influence as a mentor to the families forever changed the lives of many. She made a positive impact in the lives of many, and was well respected and admired by her co-workers, especially Candie Bower, Dianna Thiess, Liz Green, Wendy Bryan, Stephanie Kingrey, Christine Craft, Pam Grant, and Carrie Mueller. A special thank you to her sister-in-law, Melissa Beckman for being there every step of the way.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Avenue, Hamilton on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Joe Beckman, celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton on Monday, August 18, 2014 from 5:30 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Hospice of Hamilton. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Paula Wiesenberger, Dr. Krall, and the staff at Hospice of Hamilton for their care and compassion.
