Mary Lee Bittinger

Mary Lee Bittinger, age 91 of Hamilton, passed away at Westover Retirement Community on Friday, February 9, 2018. Mary Lee was born in Hamilton, Ohio on April 9, 1926 to Robert W. and Mary Louise (Schroeder) Mense. Mary Lee served in multiple capacities as a registered nurse for over 30 years at Fort Hamilton Hospital. Mary Lee will be remembered for her morning ritual of swimming, coffee, biking, and more coffee at the Hamilton YMCA. She was a volunteer at the Government Services Building Information Desk. Mary Lee will be dearly missed by all the lives she touched.

Mary Lee is survived by her sister, Gail (Jack) Larkin and her brother, Jim (Marlene) Mense; her 18 nieces and nephews; 39 great-nieces and nephews; numerous great-great nieces and nephews; and 3 step-children. Mary Lee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 24 years, Herb Bittinger; and her brother, Bob (Rosemary) Mense.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 451 Ridgelawn Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Rob Muhlenkamp celebrant. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Westover Employee Assistance Fund, 855 Stahlheber Road, Hamilton, OH 45013 or Robert & Mary Louise Mense Scholarship Fund at Badin High School, 571 New London Road, Hamilton, OH 45013.
