Mary E. Johnson

Mary E. Johnson, age 76 of Hamilton, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014. She was born in Hamilton on September 22, 1937 to George and Mary (Schmidt) Gerding. Mary was retired from Butler County Lumber, where she worked as an accountant for over 40 years. Mary was an avid bowler, and she volunteered for many years at Schroder Manor.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Gerding; nieces, Mary Ann (Richard) Hess and Melissa (Bill) Wegman; a nephew, Thomas (Rhonda) Gerding; and great-nieces, Brie Gerding and Betsy Wegman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Johnson; a brother, George Gerding; and her parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Bradford Place Chapel, 1302 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 10:30 AM with Fr. Bob Obermeyer, Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 9:00 - 10:30 AM at the Bradford Place Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice in her honor.
