Mary E. Smith

Mary E. Smith, age 67 of Hamilton, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. Mary was born in Lynch, Kentucky on November 8, 1951 to Everett Ely and Jewel (Pope) Thompson. On August 29, 1981 in Hamilton, she married Houston Smith. She loved to throw darts at Overtime Bar and Grill in Ross; she loved cooking; watching her grandsons play sports, and most of all spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her husband, Houston Smith; her son, Jim (Holly) Phelps; grandson, Colten (Lori) Phelps; her sister, Maggie (Robert) Huffman; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Ely and Jewel Thompson; and one grandson, Jacob Randall Phelps.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 1:00 PM with Mark Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Venice Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
