Mary Lou (Schobin) Geis, age 89 of Fairfield, Ohio beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother died Monday, October 13, 2014, at the Tri-County Extended Care Center in Fairfield, Ohio. She was born December 12, 1924 in Hamilton Ohio, daughter of the late John B. and Margaret M. (Molique) Schobin and graduated from Notre Dame High School, Hamilton in 1943. On November 28, 1944 at Queen of Peace Church, Millville, Ohio, Mary Lou married Paul E. Geis who preceded her in death on October 16, 2000. Together they raised 5 children. Mary Lou enjoyed a lifelong love of music and began performing in bands as a young child along with her father and brother, Joe Schobin. Mary Lou played the piano throughout her life, bringing joy to several generations of family and friends. She taught piano lessons at Hoffman Music Studio in Fairfield, Ohio along with private lessons in her home. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two sons, Donald G. Geis and William J. Geis. Mary Lou is survived by three children, Carl A. (Susan) Geis of Sun Lakes, AZ , Mary Ann (Estill Jr.) Pendergrass of Oxford, Ohio and Robert J. (Patricia) Geis of Greenville, AL, her special friend and companion, Robert G. Lentz of Hamilton, Ohio, her brother Joe Schobin of Tacoma, WA, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. On November 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church, Hamilton, Ohio where Mary Lou has been a member since 2006. Father Larry Tharp will officiate.
