Mary E. Gregg, 84, passed away at Maple Knoll on Thursday, August 13, 2015. She was born in Hamilton, Ohio to Joseph and Celia (Kettman) Finan. Mary graduated from Notre Dame High School and especially enjoyed her work at General Electric as legal secretary. On February 23, 1957 she married Albert A. Winkeljohann, a senior engineer at General Electric; they had one daughter, Diane. Upon his death in 1974, Mary returned to work, serving as a sales representative for 3M. Her brother, Mark Finan, introduced her to Richard Gregg, whom she married in 1983, proud of his military service and seven patents for P&G. In their retirement, they enjoyed picnics at Winton Woods, watching the stock market, and travel to Florida. Mary continued to live in Greenhills after Dick’s death until 2011 when she chose to move to Maple Knoll Village, where she continued to make new friends, especially enjoying the lunches at Beecher.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Diane (Dirk) Yandell of San Diego; four grandchildren: Beth (Matt) St. Pierre, Paul (Jen) Yandell, Lisa Yandell, David Yandell; two great-grandchildren: Jasmine, James; her brother, Mark Finan; and niece Mary Ann (Jim) Owens. She is preceded in death by both husbands, Albert Winkeljohann & Richard Gregg; her sister, Doris (George) Johns; nephew Mike Johns; her beloved aunt, Romilda Kettman, and her parents, Joe and Celia Finan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 17 Farragut Road on Monday, Aug 17th 11:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held immediately preceding the funeral mass in OLR’s family room from 10-10:45 am. Memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Tuition Assistance.
