Age 85 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Friday, September 28, 2012. She was born in Hamilton on February 19, 1927 the daughter of William and Emma (Weiss) Hogan. On May 21, 1949 she married Emerson "Butch" Hornung. Mary and Butch owned and operated Hornung Brothers Meats in Lindenwald.
She is survived by her husband, Emerson "Butch" Hornung; children, Janet (Dan) Sparks, Chris (Dale) Schiering, Dr. Greg (Peggy) Hornung, Mary Jo (Deryl) Jones, and Tim (Michelle) Hornung; grandchildren, Dave (Andrea) Sparks, Christine (Dane) Johnson, Shannon (Jeffrey) Barrow, Shelly (Sion) Williams, Emily (Casey) Finfrock, Julie Schiering, Kaitlyn, Alexa, and Hanna Hornung, and Dylan Jones; great grandchildren, Seth David and Sawyer Emerson Sparks, Jakob Christian and Samuel Hawkins Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Charlie Hogan, Joe Hogan, Art Hogan, Bill Hogan, Bernie Hogan, Katie Jacquemin and Loretta Sauer.
Visitation will be 5-8pm, Friday, October 5, 2012, at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am, Saturday, October 6, 2012, at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 224 Dayton Street, with Fr. Mike Pucke, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
